ABOUT
DAR MARZOUK is a beautiful & unique villa, located on the serene island of Djerba, Tunisia. Surrounded by olive trees, palm trees, bougainvilleas and the sweet sound of cicadas - the perfect ingredients for pure relaxation in a home away from home.
Complete with 5 spacious bedrooms, including one studio apartment - fit for families of all sizes and individuals. A swimming pool big enough for the most avid swimmer all enclosed within 5 hectares of pure silence.
Thanks to its location in an authentic Djerbien village, you might be lucky and fall upon traditional activities such as harrowing, threshing barley or picking and sorting of olives, depending on the season.
A cosier and more intimate alternative to the villa, is the very quaint BELVEDERE. An independent studio located 100m from the main villa. The BELVEDERE has its own plunge pool, and a charming authentic straw hut attached. A tranquil, rejuvenating spot, made even more beautiful as it languishes amongst beautiful olive trees and the swaying magnificence of nearby palm trees, both typical of this unspoilt region. Traditional Cuisine
We pride ourselves on having the best ingredients right from Dar Marzouk's very own garden. Our in-house cook, Nouria, knows all the best traditional meals of the region, along with Western staples.
Free Wifi
Although you might feel in the middle of nowhere, you will have access to Wifi. However, we suggest for our guests to fully switch off whilst enjoying the Dar Marzouk experience!
Garden
With over 5 hectares of space, you can go for long walks through our olive trees, or even explore the land around us.
Housekeeping
We are working on becoming a fully environmentally friendly guesthouse - therefore changing of bed sheets and towels are whenever requested by our guests.
In line with that, we make our own washing up liquid, laundry product, liquid and solid soap

Professional Massages
We have teamed up with a professional female masseuse to offer you, as an option, a relaxing massage to enjoy your stay with us even more!

THINGS TO DO
On Site
For those who like to stay “active”, we have made sure you have activities on site.
You can play table-tennis, baby foot or petanque (a.k.a boules).
You can go for a nice jog in the country side around the property.
Local Markets
Enjoy the true local markets or "Souks" as we call them. The most impressive are in Midoun and Houmt Souk - the capital city of the island.
Excursions
If there are any Star Wars fans in your family, they will love to visit Tataouine where they filmed some pivotal scenes for the saga including Luke Skywalker's home. Matmata is also a unique place for which excursions can be organised. We can also organise excursions to the desert with our local team in Douz
Golf & Thalasso
The island is home to an 18 + 9 holes golf course. We have arrangements with the owner so that our guests can benefit from a special rate for the practice. We can also arrange for a Thalassa in one of the best Thalassa centers of the island.
Beach & Watersports
Since we are on an island, we are surrounded by the beautiful pristine sea, only 15 mins drive from the villa.
You can of course practice your favourite water sports, kite surf, jet ski, parasailing…some spots are located just 3 miles away from the property.
Another very pleasant outing is a day on the “Ile aux flamands roses”. You will travel there in a “pirate ship”, see some dolphins, enjoy a nice day and lunch on the beach and have plenty of fun with the team who will do their best to entertain you.
Exploring the island
On the island there are museums and cultural sites worth visiting such as the Musée du Patrimoine in Houmt Souk or the Museum and the village of Guellala, the village which has a long tradition of pottery. You can also visit Meninx ruins (5 km from the villa), an ancient trading post during the Roman Empire.
Another village worth visting is Erriadh, home to one of the oldest synagogues “Ghriba” which is an important place of pilgrimage during the month of May. You can also visit "Djerbahood" which was a street art event in which artists from all over the world gathered to create 250 mural paintings in 2014.
